We’re going green this month people! if you watched my video where I was talking about my new month lifestyle habits, then you probably already know. This is the first smoothie I prepared to start off this green journey and it’s also the first green smoothie I’ve ever had.
I have a few things to say about it, but first…you will need;
– I used 3 chunks of spinach
-A few pieces of ginger
-1 peeled banana
– 1 peeled and seedless orange
-A pinch of chia seeds
-1 cup of already boiled water
My Green Smoothie Recipe:
Combine all the ingredients in a blender. Blend until the mix is uniform.
I had the smoothie in the morning while it was cold. It felt refreshing and cool as it made its way down my throat. The banana I added felt like the dominant flavor. My blender isn’t strong enough so I could taste bits and pieces of my ingredients in the smoothie.
I tried not to concentrate on the taste and took big gulps instead. It definitely needs a little getting used to.
It felt so hard to finish, but I willed myself to the end. It is so filling and one glass was enough to have me feeling set until lunch.
Would I make it again? Sure would! I think the health is what I’m most after and with time I will get accustomed to the taste. I probably need to add sweeter flavors like pineapple. Have you ever had a green smoothie? What is your favorite recipe? Let this newbie know 🙂
